In memory of Imagin2frolic

February 10th marks one year since we lost our friend and fellow sailor John, AKA Imagin2Frolic.
In early 2009 I was struggling to come back from my 2nd. MCI. A lot of members wrote to my post with encouragement. Imagine2frolic was one of them. Unknown to me, he was dealing with his own battle with health issues. I will be forever moved by his posts here on CF.
For those of us who were touched by John’s sincerity and selflessness help, please take a moment in silence remembering that sailing is a celebration of life and living. That our days are short and the Oceans miles long.

His wife Mel, wrote:
John had inspired many, impacted alot of lives inwardly or outwardly. He wanted to be remembered that he lived a full life. A life that meant to be lived. A bold and strong spirit that fought till the end, even his body is shutting down but his spirit is still strong and able to determine who is around and what’s going on in his surroundings.

John’s sailing blog is Sailing with Cancer- One Man's race against time!

Where ever you are John,
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

With love and respect …CS

Sailors never die... they just cruise over the horizon... gracefully..
Enjoy the Frolic John... where ever you are...

Wow, shocked, I missed this, didn't know. He was always adding spice and insight to our forum. I can still picture his Wedding photo ( was going to post it but I couldn't find). His love for life and family was palpable through his writing. Hope his family is doing well.

Just one more cruiser who enjoyed his posts.

Rest in Peace, but keep sailing.

Re: In memory of Imagin2frolic

Not just the sailing community misses John, but also the Cobra group thought the world of him. He is missed by all that knew him, even if it was just social media correspondence.

I will always remember John for his wit, knowledge and compassion for others whose road through life isn't always smooth. He was fortunate to have Mel by his side through his passage... God Bless... cheers, Phil

I always love it when I'm reading over some old thread for one reason or another, and there is a comment from Imagine2Frolic, bright as day, still with us. . . .

Re: In memory of Imagin2frolic

Thanks Martin,
I remember him well. He even stated that he'd like to visit when he sailed into Hilo. I'm sorry he didn't arrive in person but his spirit made it just fine.
kind regards,

Thanx...We have these pictures at the top of the forum page that are random. Occasionally I see one of John's and a smile come to my face. In general, the people on CF have been an inspiration for me.

I remember him for his gumption to keep on sailing as long as he could.
