So sorry I didn't see the name brand of the mug you were ordering. I had 2 Contigo travel mugs that I gave away because of that very reason. I didn't like the lid because of the flavor and it was hard to drink.

Nor did the other Contigo mug I own, one of the 'sealed' mugs that you press a button in order to sip from.

Now those I do like, because they do NOT spill even if they fall over. However, they are clearly designed for in-vehicle cup-holder usage as they are too tall and skinny to be stable on a table, never mind on a heeling boat!

I bought that one to see if it would keep tea warm longer, and it does, but it also causes the tea to 'stew' and go bitter. But it's fine for coffee. Although cappuccino froth does tend to get into the mechanism that operates the 'sippin' lid' - and is therefore a pain to cleajn BUT, having said that, the whole mechanism just clipos appart so each individual piece can be washed separately.

Not one for the dishwasher.

I have now used the pocelain-lined amug a few times and am happy with it's performance as a keep it warm mug, although the lid doesn't seal completely, so if it tipes, some beverage slops out.

Have realised the dream mug requires a flat base, porcelain liner and out-curved lip, with a drop in and clip on sealing lid, with a button or lever to break the seal.

Not asking for much, am I..??

I taste a flavor that I don't like but my husband can't taste anything. I have one that is stainless inside-ancient one from Starbucks. Doesn't have a flavor, easy drink lid and keeps beverage hot all day. I don't have a dishwasher so never worry about that. It's funny how important a good mug is to us! I know how you feel-you just want one that works well for you! Not too much to ask ☕️

Be sure to have a secondary way to light the grill (long matches or a spare butane grill lighter)!

Yes, the long-necked refillable Bic-type stove lighter is great - till it fails....

The old fashioned church taper, those thin candles used in church are a good back up, but if all else fails, a spill oif dry paper is an alternative.

What am I saying? Dry paper, on sailboat....?????

Another alternative, for those who like multiple back-up systems, is the squeeze-and-scratch-type of lighter, flint-based, used by welders to light oxy-acetylene.

Might go rusty aboard, but will still crank out a spark, enough to light a grill burner.

I actually use a push-button piezo-type lighter I bought years ago for the BBQ. Only clicks a small spark, so usually need a pot on top of the burner to contain the gas, but works 99% of the time.

Might be worth looking ofr something similar if they are still made somewhere. Mine is at least 15 yrs old, so have no idea. Anyone?

considered that for a second, but the thought of trying to lite a piece of paper at the stove and carry it up to the cockpit to lite the grill seemed unlikely

Probably, but why would I have lighter fluid on my boat (and don't dare say to use gasoline). Plus would still to lite the stick from the stove and carry it to the cockpit without it going out.

If you are bringing it to a grill, then you may very well have lighter fluid. Gasoline, if the stick is dipped in it and dipped in it only is safe. Just make sure the gas can is closed and you aren't anywhere near it when you light the stick. Hold the stick vertical (pointing up), and light the lower edge. Gas isn't dangerous if you aren't stupid.

Nuts! Not you guys. Nuts burn extremely well-better than
Fritos. Cashews have tons of oil. Well, it's not a worse idea than carrying sticks or dry papers to the cockpit!
