Thank you, Paul.

This is what I was looking for when I was so vehemently attacked by the Administrators of this board, who probably have a touch of career envy or something.

You know... this board is just crazy sometimes.

There you are, minding your own business, looking for some suggestions on reading material when WHAM! Some admins come on and call you ignorant, clueless, mis-informed and lazy.

The admins' disregard for the rules sometimes just astounds me.

Sean,

I read this thread and did not interpret their comments as "attacks". If you are feeling frustrated with some of the personalities around here it might be a good time to kick back for a couple days start reading some of the resources you are talking about in the OP. No reason to let this misunderstanding boil up and cause anyone any extra stress.

Peace,

Andy

Gee's is this post getting out of hand.

Who cares why Sully wants the info? It was a simple request.

Sully, old buddy, let some of this roll off your back. Good luck with the surveyor thing.

After reading the response given to good old Sully

" just another case of you're seeking the quick and easy solution, to a complex problem.
Best of luck!"

rude, very rude...

I am starting to feel afraid to ask...

Hi Andy,

Your word is law here, so of course I will do as you say.

I would like to point out that Del's post was inflammatory and Gord's post was nothing less than a brutal attack:

"This would (I believe) be in the form of a full time job; in which you've never previously expressed an interest." - GORD

Evil comment calls me lazy and unemployed, even though I'm currently almost unable to cope with all the work I have going on due to lack of time. Gord loves to dish out insults masked behind his benign writing style. Perfect example. He calls me lazy and unemployed without coming out and saying it. One of his favorite writing styles.

"Forgive me - I must have mis-underestimated your commitment to the undertaking, assuming this was just another case of you're seeking the quick and easy solution, to a complex problem." - GORD

Well, that's just one of the most insulting things I've ever read on this forum. Not sure how you don't see that as an attack, Andy, but I will follow your instructions and try to move on.

It's just crazy that someone can ask for some reading material and have Admins do this.

I just wanted to point these out in case they were missed. I am done though... I will be quiet, as you have instructed.

Thank you for taking the time to read the thread.

Sean

If this thread does not turn in a positive direction then it will be closed.

Does anyone have any helpful suggestions for Sean?

I was hoping this thread would turn towards the positive where Sean could get some some more ideas from people about becoming a marine surveyor. Nothing which relates to the original question is being discussed.

If you have problems with how Cruisers Forum is being managed then you are most welcome to PM any of the moderators or administrators and take it up with them. In fact, this is one of the forum rules here.
