CATAMARANS the book?

In 94 I read a book titled possibly CATAMARANS? This book raised my interest in cats. There was a ton of information about CSK, and Rudy Choy. Lots of pictures of CSK cats. I would like to find that book again.

Also a book about an American who met an Australian woman during WWII. I think he bought a sailboat in Panama after being discharged, and with no knowledge sailed into typhoon season. He was trying to get back to Australia. A storm shipwrecked him, he nearly starved to death, but islanders nurtured him back to life, and eventually he made it to his love in Australia. Anyone familiar with this book also?

My first literary exposure to MultiHulls was “Catamarans Offshore” ~ by Rudy Choy, published by MacMillan, in 1970.
Later, I enjoyed “The Cruising Multihull” ~ By Chris White, published by McGraw-Hill Professional in 1996.

I just bought Catamarans by Gregor Tarjan, the 2007 version. It is excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

The first part of the book describes all kinds of technical things. The latter part of the book gives reviews on dozens of "worthy" modern day cruising catamarans. It is just the kind of book I needed to read in order to help me decide.

Catamarans Offshore is it, and I found it for sale! I am sure the other one will be harder, but maybe one of our brothers, or sisters from down under will know it?

The story about the guy sailing form Panama is ringing a bell. I think there was a recent writeup about him in Latitude 38. You might give them a try.

Hi, the guy who sailed out of Panama to Oz was John Caldwell, and the book is Desperate Voyage. A really great read. I think its out of print but google it and something will come.
