Boarding Ladder

I intend to remove the swim platform from my 34' trawler and replace it with a transom mounted boarding ladder. Does anyone have a recommendation as to a particular ladder or any that should be avoided?

Many thanks,

Mac

I'm guessing that you mean for retrieving swimmers. You'll want a rigid ladder that extends three steps into the water, with plenty of standoff and handholds that you can rely on.

Re: Boarding Ladder

I'd tell you mount a Dive-N-dog ladder to your swim platform for retrieving divers / swimmers, but they won't work for a full transom ladder. I would assume your best bet may be to have one made?

Why are you removing the swim platform? I'd love to have one, biggest thing I miss from powerboats, I'm even considering having one made that will fold flat.

Re: Boarding Ladder

Your best bet is to find a stainless guy and have him build you one.

Re: Boarding Ladder

I bought a ladder from these guys. Very high quality. Perhaps they have something that would work for you.
Good luck.
