The Honesty of Boaters in Stuart

You know with all the negative stuff that happens, it’s nice to have something to talk about that is refreshing and good
The other night we came back to the marina here in Stuart. Being tired distracted or just dumb, I left the new GPS from the boat sitting on top of the car while un-packing. About two hours later I realize that I left it up there on the roof. To my amazement someone had moved the unit to a point where it was out of sight, but I would see it if I looked!!!!!!!!!!
Then a couple of days later a fellow boater was walking by the boat and asks if I had found my GPS. I thanked him, and expressed that I really really appreciated it. And wold be sure to pass it forward. Unfortunately I did not get his name, his boat name, nothing. I was going to buy him dinner or at least something. But either they have moved on or I just haven’t found them yet!!!!!!!!!!!
But if any one every asks about why boaters are a special breed, this is an example !!!!!!!!!!!!

Honesty has no limits. I've been forntunate to both give and receive among a great diversity of people, but I have found it true that most all boaters are honorable.

I'm guessing humor isn't your strong suit.

Most likely, a boater.

Boaters look after each other, because they're good people, and because we're all in the same boat, really.

Re: The Honesty of Boaters in Stuart

I know that the "probably a Canadian" comment was somewhat made in jest. However as a Canadian I have been overwhelme by honesty and forthrightness of Floridians in the past 5 months. As example through my own stupidity, I have left my tablet with shopping list at the local Walmart twice in the buggy. In both cases the tablets was turned in to the store help desk and I was able to retrieve it. So honesty lies within all people and we should be careful to not be marginalizing nationalities or races.

AVB3 thank you for your kind words about Floridians. If you ever get to Miami, please stop by my store and say hello.

NO ONE was marginalizing anyone, my step Mother is Canadian. Canadians are the nicest, most honest people I know.

OK, I'm from South Jersey. Went to college in Florida. Been in Texas since graduate school in the late 70s.

I thought the "Canadian" comment was funny. Those that didn't, just missed the humor.
