Will These Depth Transducers Play Well Together ?

Hi,

New to posting but I've been reading for a couple of months. Great info! I've got a Nexus depth transducer (which I believe operates at 200 kHz) and want to add a NMEA 2000 triducer for the chartplotter (DST800) that operates at 235 kHz. Will these interfere with each other?

I doubt they would interfere.
I have 2 Raymarine depth sounders, same frequency, but they are about20 ft apart.
Work fine together.

I have 2 depth sounders only 6 inches appart. They have a similar frequency difference to what you are suggesting and they work fine together.

Thank you both. Time to get out the hole saw.

Before you get out the hole saw, find a place on the bottom with solid glass, put a glob of petroleum jelly there, with the transducer on top, and see how it works. If it works well enough, glue it there (without another hole).

We had a lightning strike blow out 95% of a depth transducer, leaving little to keep the water out.

I agree with regards to transducers for depth. But I'm installing a triducer which includes a speed paddlewheel. Luckily, I'm just replacing an existing plumbing through-hull that's no longer needed. So there's no additional hole in the boat at least.
