Just listening to Taupo ( 'Toe-Paw' in the new Unzudspeak) Radio afew mins ago on 6244 USB....

and there is a warning about falling(!) space debris over a large slab of the South Pacific ( sorry didn't get the co-ords...).

Re: Space debris?

There was a funny story in a space & aviation magazine some while back written by someone who worked either at NASA or a related company.

Back when Skylab (or something like that) was scheduled to fall to earth, he had a big yard party to welcome it, complete with rocket juice punch and stuff, and a big X marked in the middle of the yard as a target.

His neighbor got all bent out of shape and called the law saying the guy would cause the debris to land next door to him.

So don't put an X or bullseye on your sail!
