Debris in the Chesapeake

We were out and about in the middle bay and spent most of our time dodging logs, sticks, trash and just general debris. If you are traveling to the SSCA GAM or just passing thru the bay, watch out. We saw at least 4 pilings floating down the bay. Some were partially submerged. Safe sailing!

Re: debris in the Chesapeake

we were out in the upper Bay, off the Patapsco, on Sunday, and the Bay was an awful yellow color. There was a bunch of floating debris, but we only saw one log that might have damaged our boat if we hit it at our 5-6 kts. - mostly smaller branches and assorted trash. Ugly out there, for sure.

Re: debris in the Chesapeake

My boatyard seems to be a natural collection point for the debris. It is astonishing how much driftwood (and large plastic barrels) we have stacked up.
