Celestial Nav on a computer

Took PS class about 5 years ago. Thought it would be good if I was able to put data into excel and it could do the calcs. Even better if it could pull tables from some place on the internet. Starting doing the excel myself, but my eyes bigger than the amount of time I had. Right away I ran into getting format for hr:min:sec etc.

Fast forward 5 years, I bought a cheap sextant to play around with. Wondering if there are any excel programs, computer programs or smartphone apps where I can just plug in my data and get results.

This is an Excel VBA program I wrote a few years ago:OffShoreNavigationVBA

It has an emphemeris for the Sun, Planets and stars (no moon). It will reduce a sight to a DR or assumed position.

It may give you want your looking for.

Opencpn has a plugin which will, give you a LOP on the chart, handy for getting a bit more confidence in your sights before diving into the calcs yourself.
