Outboard Tiller

The other day when I got into the dink and lowered the motor ... a Yamaha 4 stroke 8hp... the rotating throttle (rubber) seemed bendy. It works fine but I feel how weird that I never noticed this and thought it was "stiff".

I unscrewed it and looked inside looking for a broken core or something out of whack... but everything looked fine.

Are these rubber throttle "covers" stiff or bendy?

I have the same problem with my 4hp Yamaha. I find find Yamaha engineering to be missing and see a lot of poor engineering or total lack of understanding of what a outboard does. I think they let the kids loose.
