Re: Dinghy with inflatable floor

I too have an Achilles 88 but i bough mine 2nd hand with a 5 hp 2 stroke...and so far so good...the transom was rotted somewhat so i cut out the bad filled it with fiberglass and then sandwitched it with starbord and sealed it and its prefect now...i have noticed that on the eye lets that is used to attached a tow line ...i saw some hair line cracks...can that be replaced...it appears that the whole unit is a stick on patch...

Re: Dinghy with inflatable floor

i had an avon hypalon with inflatable floor. hated the floor..cannot haul heavy parts in it...need solid floor or wood to haul engines and batteries...floor is always first thing to leak, and is not desirable for beach landings. sand inside boat kills em.

I have a 10 year old mercury 310 with air floor and absolutely love it. I don't know where you heard that there were problems with the mercury but they are outstanding boats

I too had a 2003 10' Mercury Marine with an inflatable floor (air deck). It was a great dinghy and the new owner is loving it.
Check out Busters Marine. Mercury Inflatable Boats
I bought mine from them and was very happy with it.

We have a Walker Bay with an inflatable floor. Very happy with it. We found the floor quite hard and sturdy. So far (its only a year old), we are very happy with it.

I also have a Walker Bay Odyssey Hypalon air floor now 3 years old and find it very sturdy. It is used in cold waters seasonally.

I have a mercury from defender and love it. Had a novurania rib but too big and heavy. A rib is better if you have the room. I got a 120v air pump from westmarine and it fills each of the 5 chambers in about 30 seconds.

Re: Dinghy with inflatable floor

Another vote for the Achilles! My hulls and air floor never deflate (atlhough in my climate, I do have to adjust pressure downwards as the weather gets hotter and upwards as the temperature drops). The same of course is true of the hulls on RIB's.

Re: Dinghy with inflatable floor

Has anyone here ever seen, used or bought one of the boatstogo.com saturn inflatable mini-cats? They are quite inexpensive.
