Y-Valve Question: Is there a 3-Directional Valve Out there to Buy ?

Hi,

If you think of the 3 inlets to a Y-Valve (A-B-C). The standard Y-Valves you can buy have "2" optional flow directions

1. One optional flow is A to B
2. The second optional flow A to C


Question....

Has anybody heard of a Y-Valve you can buy that gives you the 3rd optional flow of B to C?

If so where could I buy one?

All you have to do is remove the stops on the handle and rotate it all the way around.

What are you trying to accomplish? The Whale and the Par-Jabsco are 2 directional, but I seem to recall that Forespar had a threeway.

I think, what you're seeking is an "X" Valve, of which I've never heard.
If you must, try two "Y" valves; the second being connected to outlet "C" of the first.

Actually Gord, thats what I did on Bluestocking, I piggybacked two Pars.

For multiple valve options...
I have several CHEEP & EASY "manifolds" I call them, so I can select which of my three water tanks I wish to draw from. (Any one, two or all three at once) I also have a duplicate manifold with which to choose the tank / tanks that get filled by the watermaker.

These are obviously, (from the photo), made of off the shelf PVC parts & valves, with nylon thread in hose barbs from West Marine or the like. They have worked perfectly for 14 years now... Mark

Exactly. Great work. Sometimes the obvious isn't.

As Delmarry said, remove the stops. Might not be able to easily do this with all brands.

If the OP is talking about 1.5" diameter stuff, the manifold will be space consuming.

This situation is when you build a valve manifold. The flow combinations are limitless this way.

Yep! That's what these are for in the petrol industry.

There are many surplus plumbing stores that have stainless steel X-valves in various sizes. Especially around the Cape Canaveral area. Seems a lot of the Space Shuttle pipe fittings end up in the hardware/surplus stores.
