Waeco Coolmatic CF-50 Troubleshooting

I have one of these nice frig/freezer units as an auxiliary. They're very handy and will run off both AC and DC. Mine is 12 years old and has been quite reliable, until a troubling problem.

Recently, the control panel lights have begun flashing up and down the entire range. When it starts doing so, the unit goes into freeze mode, regardless of where it was previously set. It does so on both AC and DC. It is also very difficult to get it to stop, and seems to have no effect, even if the lights stop flashing -- it still goes into freeze mode, which the manual says is 'emergency' mode.

I've cleaned the vents, they were fine. The internal fuse is also fine. Anyone have any ideas about what's going on?

Thanks!

First contact Dometic as they have assumed responsibility for WACO products. If they do not provide the answers you need get in contact with marketing manager of West Marine as they are a major distributor of the Coolmatic CF 50 this person will help you convince Dometic you need assistance. This unit is not the same as an expendable kitchen toaster it is a $675 repairable item and you need help in getting it to operate again.

12 years old. Thats life. Would a new motherboard be worth it?
