    Hi Mr Kollmann,
I notice your website is down... do you need any help with it? I worked professionally in website administration and am happy to help, your contribution to this forum is beyond value.
    Kind regards

Hi Richard, I know you don't publish any more. Think last time I tried you were taking personal checks, but that wasn't going to work from Aus. is there something we can work out, how about a PDF Version. My email is pawleyd at

Hi Richard, I had to leave the boat, in the Bahamas, to return home without any further progress. I am going again July 29th and have acquired a new gauge set, pump, and scale to weight refrigerant, and refrigerant can adapter/valve. My intent is to put the pump on for several hours to hopefully insure the system is clean and then add the proper amount of refrigerant. I will check for leaks before pumping it down.

I have a new filter/dryer but unless I can find a competent refer guy to sweet the old one off and solder the new one on I feel I will need to skip that step and cross my fingers that the filter/dryer is OK. Based on your advise I am concerned that the odds that I could cause further contamination cases me pause anyway.

If you would be willing to give me step by step directions I would appreciate it very much. Unfortunatly I can only saty on the boat a few days because my wife is fighting an illness so I can't be gone from home for very long.

    Best regards, Jeff

do you provide a 'refurb' service? i have a Adler Barbour of unknown condition. it was working when the PO sailed the boat to the yard 15 years ago but the guy who bought it from him and later sold it to me has no info. thoughts?

I have an older Adler Barbour cold machine, it has what I believe to be a relay mounted to the side of the top of the compressor, occasionally the compressor stops working and if I tap this relay it starts up again.
Do you know of a part number or source for this relay?

I hear you are the koolman. I know you don't care for Glacier bay but there is a brain teaser in the thread I started. GLACIER BAY MARK II 12V REFER. Anything would help the beer is warm and I think I want to drive on the wrong side of the street.
    Thanx Sid

THANKS RICHARD. when i was in NZ the accumulator sprung a leak and the guy who came to fix it ripped out the accumulator saying you dont needthis so the fridge worked for two years or so and then was regassed recently. the compressor got louder and now bangs about for the 10-20 seconds i have had it running. before it got really noisy it stopped cooling and got very hot. the thing must be 70's and probably needs a rebuild now so am going to look at a Sanden as suggested which should be quieter anyway. The question is will i have to reinstall an accumulator. The system runs fridge with one holding plate and a freezer with two holding plates. There are two TX Valves.
I have your book which is very informative but i am a beginner in this field so any help or advice is always welcome. Thanks again and hope to here from you soon. ps Email is not always available while cruising unless you are richer than me

    Mr. Kollmann,

I'm trying to view the slide show on your website but the site seems to be down. I only see errors codes on the page, the forum seems to be working fine.

Do you still have your website up and books for sale?
