Proper A/C placement?

I'm having a bit of an issue with the placement of my A/C system. I'm installing it under a dinette seat, and because of where the return air grille will be, I have the "fins" facing that direction. However, because of the slant of the floor, the condensate doesn't drain out of the tray, so I've had to prop one side of the unit up.

If I turn the unit around, the condensate would drain correctly, but the fins would be opposite the air return grille.

Below are some crude drawings of my setup. What would you suggest for maximum efficiency in this situation?Leave it as is, or turn it around?

I don’t think it’s going to matter much, but I would shim it so that it sits level.

So shim it and permanently mount it in its current position?

I would situate it for the smoothest condensate run. The air moving around the unit is no biggie, but if the condensate backs up you’ve got a wet soggy rotten mess in a surprisingly short time

True.

The problem then becomes getting the duct work in there without blocking the intake air flow.

You only have one drain? Common I thought for them to have at least two, usually more. Often the extra drains will have a rubber plug in them.

There are all kinds of these things, put one beside of the pan and if the drain clogs or leaks, it will scream and let you know before things get rotted out etc.
They are not a bad high water alarm for the bilge too, sound like a smoke alarm going off, you’ll hear it.

As far as I can tell, there is only one, as there is only one fitting on the pan. In the photos its in the upper left corner under the coils.

If there aren't additional pre-drilled drain holes, you can make another anywhere you want it in the pan...

I install AC units all the time, first off they can be mounted up to 15 degrees off plumb and not hurt anything. Second yes you may swing it around as long as the fins have 3 inches of clearance from the bulkhead so as not to starve the evaporator. It is actually recommended to have the air flow past the compressor to help cool it as it runs at about 170F. Visit the manufacturer's website Flagship Marine and look at the self contained page and on the bottom is a link to their Install do' and don'ts. If that is a 16R you will need more venting then what is coming off that blower now.
