MHK Bilge Pump

After testing my bilge pumps yesterday I discovered that the diaphragm on the manual MHK pump is bad. So far a search has found an old expired classified ad to sell one. Is this company and parts for its pumps long gone?

I’ve never heard of an “MHK” manual bilge pump.

Some Manual Bilge Pump Manufacturers:

Beckson MarinePumps by Beckson

Bosworth ➥ The Bosworth Co. - Diaphragm Pumps, Y-Valves & Check Valves

Edson MarineEmergency Pump Kits : Edson Marine Store

Plastimohttp://www.plastimousa.com/Bilge%20Pumps.pdf

Johnson PumpSPX Johnson Pump for Boatbuilders, Pleasure, Commercial & Fishing boats

Victory (Reckford) ➥ Rekord Marine is a distributor of quality marine products including our own Victory Products.

Whale Water Systems ➥ Marine : Whale Pumps 12V Henderson Plumbing Bilge Diaphragm Submersible Pressure Water Systems Marine Caravan RV Shower Drain Portable Sanitation Purging Groundwater Solutions Voltage Electric

Good luck.

At a quick glance of those websites, it doesn't look like those. This is a fairly distinctive pump. It has a quick release cover. There is a rod with a handle at 90 degrees. There is a cam lobe on the rod. Rotate the rod with the handle and the cam lobe releases pressure on the cover plate. You can then remove the rod. The cover plate lifts off and you can clean out the check valves. It takes less than a minute to clear this pump.

It has MHK on it and model P7L.

Didn't see a mark II on their website. All the pumps I did see come apart on the diaphragm. The pump I have has the diaphragm secured to the pump body on one side of the body and the quick release cover on the other side of the body. The Whale pump body is all one piece on the side opposite the diaphragm.

The pump I have is an old black aluminum bodied pump.

The Whale “Gusher Mk 2" may have been the predecessor to the “Gusher Galley Mk3" (galley foot pump) ➥ Marine : Whale Pumps 12V Henderson Plumbing Bilge Diaphragm Submersible Pressure Water Systems Marine Caravan RV Shower Drain Portable Sanitation Purging Groundwater Solutions Voltage Electric

I could swear I rebuilt mine with a kit for mk.2 now Im confused because it looks like it is a foot pump. then I found this Bilge Pump Service Kit, Service Parts, Whale Gusher 10 Mk.2 & Mk.3. The Whale Gusher 10 Service kit (AK3706 - neoprene, AK3714 - nitrile) will pump new life into your Mk 2 or Mk 3 bilge pump. This kit includes the complete set of serviceable parts for both the MK.2 & Mk.3 Gusher 10 manual bilge pumps. from this site

Looked at pics, looked at your location, England, Old wooden boat.
Just maybe you have a "Henderson", before there was a "Henderson".
MKH? You might have to be a sleuth, like Inspector Morse, (or Clouseau).

Re: MHK Bilge Pump

IIRC 12 years ago, I could not find a Henderson MK2 rebuild kit so I replaced the entire pump with a MK 5.
