Re: Hurricane = permanent marker on vinyl seats = Help

I didn't notice any mention of my go-to Acetone (nail polish remover).

"Denatured" alcohol. Not isopropyl or ethyl.
Denatured is different and will get permanent
marker off vinyl.

Let us know if you're successful.

Jongleur ethyl alcohol is the same as denatured alcohol just with a denaturing compound added to make it unfit for human consumption.

Aquadome have you tried goof off? Usually does a good job.

Re: Hurricane = permanent marker on vinyl seats = Help

The manufacturer (of my boat) suggests denatured alcohol to remove ink from vinyl.
Sorry for the repeat. I didn't see this suggestion was listed already.

Methyl Hydrate is worth trying...and also WD40...that stuff can do anything!

Consider this option...get more papers with interesting print on them, wet them, and apply to the cushions to make an attractive pattern.

Have you tried Creme Clenser? The white slightly grainy stuff for washing pans, it worked on a white leather with texta so might do the trick?

I may just have to resort to that because everything I've tried thus far did not work as the ink and permanent marker is embedded onto the vinyl!

If ya can't beat 'em, join 'em. Buy a bunch of colored permanent markers and make an art project on the seat. Or find an artsy person to do it for you.
