Fort Lauderdale - Labor for Lessons

Well we made the first move of the plan. We're on the water. We have tons to learn tons. Who in FLL needs someone to roll up their sleaves for general sailing knowledge in return? Will barter lessosn, want to see tons of boats for sale.

You're probably better off taking an Adult learn to sail course. Two places in FLL that offer these pretty reasonably. First, is the Gulfstream Sailing Club. They have a website, just google it for info.

Also, there is Broward COmmunity College at the tigertail complex. They have a course that I believe is around $300 and comes with a US Sailing certification.

Sailoff, I'd suggest putting up a note on the bulletin board at your local WestMarine stores and on your docks. Speak to the local club or dockmaster, tell 'em you're willing and able to lend a hand in order to get some learning. Call the local Power Squadron members, they'll be able to network you quickly too.

Well that didn't take long! We now own a 1973 Morgan Out Island 36. We are excited and know we can expect many new suprises as we prepare to move aboard in the next 3 weeks.

Waterways is back. Triton and Dockwalk are more for paid crew. Some of the articles are interesting though. All are free. Try WM, Sailorman, or BOW. We are in Ft. Lauderdale so if you would like to meet for a beer we can possibly help you out a bit.

@s/vfootloose Think you are referring to Waterfront Times, formerly Waterfront News?

My daddy always told me "to put your brain into gear before engaging your mouth". I guess today it should also include fingers. lol

We found a project Morgan 36. Her name is Keep It Simple. We move aboard in 2 weeks and the slow process of getting her ready to head down Island begins.
