Worse?..Damn!...

approached by unknown vessels. Two megas had to take some form of evasive action. Could have been fishing boats, but the consensus was that they were not.

Not meaning to be rude by any means here...Im a little slow, but I catch on after a while...and what I see here is that most of the people that think people who talk about guns or better yet the talk of guns is dumb are from down under.and I can remember being in Guam watching the TV in the early 90s and I saw where they confinscated the peoples guns and cut them up and dumped them in the ocean...it was said that the right to bear arms wasnt in the constitution or something like that...so Im wondering is that why the Aussies seem to be so negtive about the gun thing, and if they had not taken the guns would their attitude be more "liberal"...just wondering and im sure I'll be corrected if im wrong. Re: British Couple Released After a Year in Captivity

I just wanted this thread to be about the Chandlers, not about guns.

Gun threads are all over this forum. Can't we just talk about the Chandlers or the Danish 7 still hostage for once?

7 people are there held by pirates and no one here gives a stuff.

By the way, the Danish relitives are coughing up $3milllion for the families release.

Can other cruising families afford that?

I'm afraid, given my monetary shortcomings, I would likely find myself learning the local dialects for a long term stay. It is curious, though, that there has been very little in the news about our captive Danish compatriots.

The Danes seem to me to be a lot like Germans..very resourceful and proud...they might have looked at it like any other business deal and said all right whats it going to take to do business with very little drama.

Hi Mark,

I care, they have my sympathy, but I'd say I am more sympathetic for the other 800+ being held, the majority who had little choice, other than take a piss paid job or none at all, and risk being blacklisted if they refused to sail.
Having being boarded by 20 west africans from that country well known for computer scams, I have an inkling of what they are going through, me and my crew were luckly and were released after 2 days.

Its good to know that their families are getting the cash together.
