Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

By pure coincidence, my wife and I will be flying from Honolulu to Sydney on Dec. 20, arriving Dec. 22nd. Crossing the dateline will mean that we will never experience Dec. 21st.

So...my question is this: Will our plane contain the only people left alive on earth when we touch down...OR...will we get to watch the world disintegrate beneath us and have no place to land?

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

When the "Y2K scare" was happening we went down to Mexico because everyone there is already living off of beans, staying in concrete bunkers, and they already have marshall law. We partied "like it's 1999". We are in Guatemala now. All the Mayan's that we have talked to are having a good laugh about this. There is some event planned in Tikal and it should give tourism here a boost. I'm staying on my boat.

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

Oh yea I'm retiring Friday Nov 30.

Should give me a good solid 3-4 weeks of freedom. hahaha.

What a load.

Anybody who really does anything different in response should be required to wear a big sign so the sane folks know who to steer clear of...

Word is, the apocalypse will only be the 'End of Times', for deadbeat conspiracy theorists and door-to-door religion salesman. Hallelujah..there is a god!

I vote for the flan. Always had a weakness for rich, creamy deserts.

Chocolate I prefer in its pure, unadulterated form. Don't ruin it by diluting it into cake or ice cream.

If someone puts a concert poster on your car, it really does not effect you, unless you go to the concert.

In this case, the presentation is coming to a theatre near you.

We were just discussing that. Being in NZ you might get your Birthday after all. If the end comes late in the day on Hawaii, You will already be into the 22nd.

If on the other hand it all goes poof at 0030 on the 21st, then I'm going to be annoyed as I'll still be on the 20th and got ripped off for a day.

Hate to shoot a hole in your theory, but when exactly did they move the dateline so you cross it going to Hawaii?

Dennis is going from Hawaii to Australia, so will cross the dateline. Easy way of avoiding a "scary day" .

Actually the Mayan Calendar did not take into account leap years, so by their calculations the world should have ended 34 years ago........
