Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

We have already joined all major churches in town and now we are joining all the smaller sects. Just in case.

We are also going to draw as much as man can on all our credit cards. Just in case.

Lovely. Now how about the bit where they chop the live buffalo up with machetes? Sickos...

Apocalyptica concert would be appropriate -- the Finnish rock cello group.

But I checked my Oreo calendar and it said that the cookie can crumble any old day.

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

The misconception that the Mayan calendar ends on the 21st December 2012 is a common one. That is the kind of thing that will happen when you get your facts from Hollywood movies and crank websites.

Genuine Mayan scholars say that : The calendar does not end. There is no prediction of apocalypse. What we are coming to is the end of a period called a Baktun in the long count calendar. What happens then is (wait for it!) that another Baktun begins. This would be an event of great significance, but also a cause of celebration.

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

I'm gonna stock up on rum and pickled eggs. Call in sick on apocalypse-eve and go about 3 miles off-shore. Zombies can't swim ya know, and looters will find something easy. Aside from that, I think it will be great. I'm thinking my new career I will a private cargo vessel. Coffee, tea, smokes, and goya products.

I'd prefer a deck-gun that shoots beer cans filled with concrete.
On a serious note: perhaps another thread on defensive tactics aboard. I've often thought about getting into a shoot out on the boat. Most scenarios end with holes in something. Either me or target, and usually the boat. Any one got a reinforced firing position?

Gonna polish the peg leg, send the parrot to the dry cleaners, don the dressy eye patch and cancel my subscription to the resurrection.
