J. Kay is still doing concerts occasionally. I'd like to give some of Mr. Kay a listen right now. It'd be pretty good sailing music I'd think ...

Out on the deep blue sea I can play my stereo as loud as I want ... yippee

Of course, at my age I've got no choice ...

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

Canadians ( and a few americans) have come to realize that the "Mayan calender" is not actually a calender.....its a hockey schedule

I stand corrected, it was Hair the rock performance. Funny when I was hearing it in my head, it sounded like something Steppenwolf would perform. I also talk to myself, and yes occaisionally I answer back.

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

In the last two months I almost died (drowning/hypothermia), a good friend did died young and the end/beginning of a 26,000 year celestial cycle caused people to reflect briefly on the end of the universe. Life is alot more precious than people give it credit for, life should be lived now, because we don't know what/if will come next. The idea of the end of the universe should serve as a reality check for everyone, your own personal universe may end or at least come crashing down at any moment. In other words live life to the fullest, owning a boat and the mindset that comes with it is a good start in that direction.

I think the politicos are using the mayan prophecy to scare the hell out of us about some cliff we are about to go off. We'll probably be in the same state on Jan 2 as we were on Dec 22... I think I'll have another toast to the mayans... cheers, Phil

Of course I remember, and like you, assumed this cycle transition was just that beginning.

Politicos would rather scare us with something they can control and/or show the appearance of controlling. They would also rather we stay with in the confines of our "safe little world" feeling secure that the govt bodies are keeping us safe. The would rather we lead pointless little consistent lives, allowing them the greatest of control.

Well I don't feel they are succeeding in doing either of these. They aren't in control and it shows!

Too cold and too much snow to sail today (just so this isn't a political post)

All this reminds me of a T-shirt I had that said, "I hear voices & they don't like you".

I thought it was hilarious but the wife hated it. It somehow disappeared one day.

Re: Apocalypse..any Plans?

At least that apocalypse is proved to be untrue. I still have years to sail in other places.
