You can link to a video hosted by youtube and a few other video hosting sites, by coping the url of the video and pasting it into your post. Our software will convert it to an image in your post.

2GB free or 10GB paid subscription https://www.getdropbox.com/referrals/NTU4OTQxNzk for the free one that gets me + 250MB for referral. Hint.

Just Dropbox - Home - Secure backup, sync and sharing made easy. if you prefer ~ It gives you a web dropbox (Eg. for a video,) you may have to zip it for people to download from your public folder. You get the Url by left clicking on your file in DropBox Public; then picking that option from the menu.

CF does not currently host video. You need a host site to store your videos.

Does the video have to be hosted by Youtube or Dropbox to show here?
I have our videos eaither hosted on Flickr or on our own server for our blog:
Seven C’s Sailing Web Log
I tried adding the url and the <embed> tags but that apparently does not work. Or am I just missing something?
Thanks

Your assumption is correct. The embed feature doesn't support videos from some sites.

Re: Posting Video?

Copy the URL from YouTube.
Paste it into your post.

Simple enough?

DON't try to embed it - no need

Re: Posting Video?

And be aware the embedding only works for youtube, other video sources won't do it.

Returning to the site and after logging in, I checked the attachments pop up and found the photo. Getting into the attachments box I was asked to log in again but could not find the movie (Marquesas) download.
interestingly the photo did not load.
