I haven't meant to imply that I think OpenCPN isn't a good app.

Just that it's always seemed (from the outside) like too much work, for me, to install, learn, support, etc.

FWIW, I've not tried OpenCPN because I see (in passing) all the issues and queries for the "help desk" here. I didn't want a science project... have too many other things on the boats to learn and...

So the most recent/last remaining NOAA raster charts continue to be available on the Furuno MFDs or in TimeZero.

That might mean ATONs are eventually out of date, but the land masses don't change...

NOAA charts for TimeZero (and Furuno's TZT MFDs) are both raster and vector. Presumably as long as NOAA continues publication of raster charts.

We use TimeZero on a Windows laptop. Works great, even our old version.

Happened into it, because it's completely compatible (near mirror) with the first Furuno MFD we installed on our previous...
