Re: Charged after visiting a boat for sale! Has anyone ever had this happen?
A lot of mostly the same answers to the original poster, who hasn’t put up any replies to the page and a half of our replies, also note this is the first time this poster has posted on cruisers... |

Re: I keep tripping my marina's power pedestal when I turn on my main shore pwr break
Question for the OP — are you running your inverter at same time you’re running shore power? If so, try keeping it off and supplying those loads directly from shore power or a shore power outlet. |

We stayed in St Augustine this spring where I changed my oil… turned out the town marina accepts used oil and used filters with self serve containers adjacent to the building with showers and... |

Re: Some Mainsail quotes
@Fxykty, not sure if you realize that there is now a warp oriented Hydranet, very different in both look and performance from the original fill oriented version which had the square rip-stop style... |

Re: Binoculars
Image stabilized - I’m guessing the folks that are recommending non stabilized haven’t tried then, on a moving boat there is just no comparison. IS allowed steady vote even with 12 or 14 power, and... |

Re: Some Mainsail quotes
I disagree with the stiff 3Di mainsail comment, mine was as soft as you are going to get with a material that will hold its shape with the loading that is put on it by a boat with over a 1000 sq ft... |

Re: Some Mainsail quotes
I have a Quantum 100 square meter main for my Atlantic 55, built in radial Hydranet. Replaced a 2014 vintage 3Di from North. I almost pulled the trigger on SXI dyneema cruising laminate, but decided... |

Re: Rigging a symetrical spinnaker on Leopard 44
@capnbill… One line on each clew led to blocks on either bow works ok when running almost dead down wind, but isn’t going to work well when on more of a reach. And even on a run, if it’s windy, you... |

Re: Race Stickers on Epoxy Paint
We used to polish the hull before putting stickers on, which would make it much, much easier to peel them off after the regatta. Peel them off after the last race, the longer you leave them on there... |

Re: Cast iron keel problem! Advise needed
Wow Pretty clear you need to run this down until everything about the keel, bolts and hull are fully understood. I’d start with Dufour. |

Re: Are "Performance Cruising Catamarans" safe?
Exactly, by their own logic too. Otherwise, anybody can drive a car off the side of the road, you just have to decide you’ll be the one to stay in control, keep the speed appropriate for the... |

Re: Nautitech build quality
I’m sure Paul can give you a definitive answer but I’m pretty sure the 46 Open has cable steering rather than hydraulic. Would very much be my preference. From my experience boat, I’d also... |

Re: Nautitech build quality
That aside, I always thought the Open 40 and 46 looked to be better performers than their charter oriented peers. Maybe more true of the 40. And certainly the air draft of the 46 (76’ IIRC) is... |

Re: Are "Performance Cruising Catamarans" safe?
If we make the assumption that when it’s windy out we’re going to reef, the more sail area relative to stability that performance cats have is offset by the reefed sailplan, enabling the performance... |

Re: Cat Purchase- World Circumnavigation Trip
Guess I better go right out and sell my Atlantic 55 cause it’s too much to handle, maybe buy me a Dana 24! If your point is that people who don’t know what they’re doing should keep to smaller... |

Re: My Multihull Rigging Thread
Oh, one other thing, I wanted to avoid light colored laminates due to likelihood of mildewing — shouldn’t be a concern for the woven main and jib and the laminated genoa has gray taffeta skins. |
