They couldn't get rid of annoying bubble in dome. They said there were cracks in the plastic base (noting visible). They gave it back to me with the card disoriented.

Gemini pedestal compass repair?

I tried the recommended Annapolis compass repair shop. They couldn't fix it.
I need a second opinion event if I have to send it far away.
I think Gemini is out of business. That doesn't mean it...

What's wrong with this genoa car?

It swivels OK but the round sheave doesn't turn (frozen). I tried to lock the thing in a vise and a turn with a vise grip. No turn.

Nobody has mentioned the Harbor Freight Tools line of 20 V battery powered tools.... Yes, they're made in China but they are excellent.... half-price of the brand names mentioned above..

Thanks Dsanduril.... I ordered two of those. The label Ocean series 1984-1989 makes me think it may be the right part. My boat is a 1985 model. Who knows?

impossible to find part for a Lewmar winch

I have an older self-tailing two speed Lewmar 40.
The stripper ring located between the two jaws is broken.
The pic shows the stripper ring and the two jaws.
Impossible to find a replacement.......

My two speed Levmar 40 is unbolted from below (five hard to reach 7/16 nuts).... I tapped on the protruding stud with a piece wood between hammer and stud.... nothing moves.... the winch base above...

I have removed the inner pin holding the roller (the bar) with punching an old drill bit and lot of PB Blaster. Hope I will be able to slip my halyard eye in the top round part and repunch in place...
