The storm is sending very large waves down here to Kona. Supposed to hit late tonight. Glad we got back in town so I could be sure the boat is secure.

932 mb!

That's crazy. Most hurricanes don't get that low.

Where did you see 932? I saw 970 on the NOAA 96 hour forecast on the weatherfax.

Jack, the weather map you posted shows winds of 60 and 70 knots off the north end of Vancouver Isl. Rough passage on the Prince Rupert ferry.

Yep, North of Van Isle is where they had the sea bouy that measures wave height. Each winter reportedly it gets over 100 ft on occcassion....

That's got to be the longest fetch on the planet, with the exception of the Southern Ocean, which is unlimited fetch south of 57 South, I suppose.
