Heat is being trapped in the troposphere by the GHGs. If solar activity was a factor in the troposphere and the stratosphere, they would be warming and cooling simultaneously.

The thermosphere is cooling as a result solar activity, but that has absolutely no impact on the troposphere or the stratosphere.

We are coming out of a La Nina, so temperatures declined. The ENSO forecast is for an El Nino so be prepared for temperature increases. If that lasts and the winds are favorable the NWP should open next summer.
Jack both are cooling or cant you actually red the graphs.
Also i doubt we will have an el nino this year the actual water temps in 3/4 dont really support the forcast.
An aside to your forcast i disagree the nwp will not be open for unassisted passages in 2019.

Look at the trend lines.

You may need to express your concerns to those who actually study ENSO.

newhaul, you have really shown your ignorance in this thread. Why not just give in and let the thread die?

I'm not the one that keeps trying to steer it to MMGW Crap I am also not the one that revived it so if you want it to die just stop posting on it .

we will not have an actual El Nino jack .
The water temps are cooling .
Recall we still have a water that we will be below the baseline for global temps by the end of the year. We are cooling jack .

Aside from this what do you propose . We go below baseline you owe me a copper river salmon dinner?

You are showing your ignorance by posting links to blogs of climate deniers, not climate scientists. The oceans of the world are at record high temps, arctic ice maximum is once again headed to a record low and we have seen record breaking storms all over the world.

actually you seem to be showing your lack of investigative skills
Dr Roy Spencer is a highly respected climatologist.
Perhaps the unseasonable snow and cold are affecting your reasoning skills.
Also I thought you wanted this thread to die then you post nonsensical drivel against Dr Spencer.
About « Roy Spencer, PhD
Roy W. Spencer received his Ph.D. in meteorology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1981. Before becoming a Principal Research Scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2001, he was a Senior Scientist for Climate Studies at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, where he and Dr. John Christy received NASA’s Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal for their global temperature monitoring work with satellites. Dr. Spencer’s work with NASA continues as the U.S. Science Team leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer flying on NASA’s Aqua satellite

Sorry but I will listen to him before someone on a sailing forum. About anything climate related.

Really. 90% of the warming is taken up by the oceans.

what does your incorrect graph covering decades have to do with temps in the last few days to weeks.

Answer nothing.

It is called a trend, a concept for which you have no understanding.

Sure.

Since you did not live up the conditions of the last wager, we will need a neutral third party to hold the wager.

as we both well know a trend line can show anything we want it to depending on the start date chosen.
We are cooling when I choose 2015 as a start point or 1100AD as start points we are cooling . Or how about the Roman warm period .
The more data points the more accurate the graph . 30 years is a real short time frame. ( in the big picture.

Roy Spencer is not a climate scientist? That'll be news to the University of Alabama and NASA.
