I would like to think that 150 knt. miles is our target but to be honest I would have to say it's closer to 130 for a average. We have done a lot of days in the 150's but we have also done a ton in the 120's as well. It really depends on the
wind. What direction, the strength and the swell direction means a lot as well. Our crossing from the
Galapagos to the
Marquesas was a sweet down
wind sail the whole way but our sail from the Ninigo Islands in PNG to
Palau was a mix bag or squalls, wind on the nose and to finish it all off a sweet 2 days of wind from the rear quarter. But it was a 900 mile crossing that took us 9 days so you do the math. It's not all fun sailing out there, be ready for that 40 knt. squall or those days of no wind at all. But getting there is the goal, how you get there is up to you.
