I'm in Charlotte too and I keep a catamaran at North West Creek Marina, it's a nice place just a few miles from New Bern.

Wow! I started this thread and haven't been back in some time...nice to see all the posts! I am still at Point Marina...still sailing, but now in a different boat...just got a Pearson 27 and love it. All of you in that area look for "Kokopelli" on the water and give me a shout out.
Again, thanks for all the posts!

Looks like a few are in NC. How many stay in NC and sail in the cold?

Entlie,

I think I've seen Sunspot on F pier, unfortunately my cat's on the hard at the moment getting some new bottom paint and a bimini but we are normally in slip F28.

Should be back in November with any luck

Northwest Creek Marina here too... But sailing? What is THAT? Fire up the Perkins with no waiting for the wind on our boat.

We sail in the cold. It's usually not too bad behind the dodger. I nstalled a hydronic heater last spring to help with the cold weather sailing. We'll get to test it this year. I only have one concern about sailing in cold weather, shrinkage. It seems that my aluminum mast shrinks more than my stainless steel standing rigging. Do you other cold weather sailors re-tension your standing rigging for winter? I'm a bit concerned that if I do that and we get a warm spell (which we do have in the winter here) that the rig might be too tight.

oriental nc

New to forum. I was hoping I could get someone to take a look at a
34' boat for me located in Oriental. I have come to terms with the owner, but have not seen the boat for a year and a half. Want to make sure
it is not sitting in the mud somewhere before I make the 10 hour trip from
Pennsylvania. This is a 2 year old boat which is supposed to be in like new condition. Any help would be appreciated.

Send me a private message and we can discuss it. Must move quickly, I am loading the boat to head south.
