Hi from New Mexico
I know, New Mexico is landlocked. However, we also have a home in Puerto Rico.
We recently purchased a Sunbeam 37 ft sloop that is now sitting on the hard in Florida. We both have considerable small boat sailing experience and have been thinking about getting something of this size for about 7 or 8 years. The plan is to finish some minor repair work on her and put her in the water at the end of the hurricane season. Then to sail the Thorny Path to Puerto Rico where we will keep her for the foreseeable future.
I'm sure we'll have lots of questions about outfitting, provisioning, and the details of that trip.

Welcome,

I too use to own a Sunbeam. Only it was a 1966 Tiger. As you can see I was young, and slim.....LOLOLOLOL....BEST WISHES in enjoying your Sunbeam under the Sunbeams of P.R. & Florida

I used to have a '65 Sunbeam Alpine with wire wheels and twin gas tanks - and yes, it was orange - did they come in other colors? I've also sailed the Thorny Path, but I did with a Hunter.

I'm not familiar with a sunbeam boat, but my first car, as a cadet at Pensacola, was a '65 Sunbeam Tiger. $50 a month until commissioning, then $210/mo. Should have kept it. This '65 is identical to mine and is for sale for $54.5k.
