Hello to Cruisers worldwide!

Hello Everybody!

I am not totally new to this Forum but since two month the proud owner of an Alberg 37 cutter rigged sloop After couple years of surching and doing research on various types of vessels, traveled to many countries to find the right one for me it happend two month ago in the caribbean in st. marteen where i purchased RODEO from an nice canadian couple.

Together with there help i sailed her down Grenada 460something nm in 5 days.... whow!! kind o hard with the ESE wind on our nose.. but we did it, and the best thing- absolutely nothing broke on RODEO.

The greatest seetrail ever
Now the sleek beauty sleeps in her secret harbour hurricane hole and wait for me until 15 NOV when iam back for the winter season and do a haul out and paint job! If anybody have any recommend. on that in the area carriacou/grenada, pls go ahead and tell!

So, all the best for all the cruisers worldwide and fair winds
cheers Chris

Re: Hello to Cruisers worldwide!

Howdy! (means hello in Texas, or at a rodeo)

That is a nice looking boat!

Sounds like you had a very nice first cruise with her too.

And, I think the name is great! (It is actually one I have considered for a future boat because I spent many nights at rodeos in the American West.)

Have fun!

Re: Hello to Cruisers worldwide!

Hello Again Christian.

Thanks for the kind message (regarding the name).

It can be a small world, and I have often been surprised by coincidences and chance meetings. I certainly know that if I ever come across another boat named Rodeo in the future, it will bring a smile to my face as I have good associations with the name (and sport). The first rum/beer is on me.

Since you also like the name Rodeo, you might find it interesting to see a few rodeo photos (part of my book project). The following link shows a very small sample of some of my rodeo work. Most of the best photos are reserved for my future book on the subject and are not shown on the internet.

Also, that is a very cool photo of you at the helm (the one you are using as an avatar). Nice image!

Fair winds and following seas…
