Hello from Toronto!

Hope to learn lots from everyone hear about power boating on Lake Ontario. Been boating for years but never for long distance and hoping to make a farther trip this year, possibly to the US. Would love to find people who have already had this experience. Cheers!

Re: Hello from Toronto!

Sounds like a good idea to me - I do sail but have friends who regularly cross the lake by power.

And I'll put in a plug for the Great Lakes Cruising Club, which is where I met those friends. It's a mix of power and sail boaters, cruising on the Great Lakes and beyond, who share information and experience to encourage exactly what you're planning to do.

Sorry got caught up with recent vacation so didn’t have a chance to reply earlier. Thanks so much for that recommendation and I’ve looked into GLCC which seems really awesome for exactly what I’m planning. Looks like it will have a lot of resources for us first timers going through locks and the such.

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Xi Chen.

Re: Hello from Toronto!

Welcome to CruisersForum!

I would suggest updating your profile with your general location and your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.
