Hi All,
I'm Dave. My wife and son and I are enjoying our third season aboard our 1973 Grampian 26, Dragonfire, which has been undergoing a bit of a refit since we've owned it. So far we have sailed a bit around Lake Ontario and are excited to get out and explore more this season.
We have been saying that we "need" a bigger ship. It is not really necessary for now, but the long term plan is to find a solid bluewater boat in the 38-45' range and explore further afield, too.
I am a tinkerer, and usually find working on the boat almost as fun as sailing....

Well Don,
The only thing that might warrant a picture is the newly painted hull. Re-wiring, cleaning. There is still so much to do. Maybe if it ever gets done I'll post some before and after pics.
I've been using it as a bit of an educational piece... Making things more convenient etc. Developing confidence with the fibreglass work, etc. All in preparation for getting a bigger ship for voyaging.

Welcome Dave. We’re down the lake in Belleville these days. Sailed past your area a couple of years ago when we came down from Lake Superior. Hopefully on our way to Newfoundland this year, but will be hanging around here till mid-June. Maybe we’ll cross wakes…

My previous boat was a Grampian 34 (ketch). Love all the Gramps. Solid, simple, seaworthy boats with lots of living and storage space, and good sailors to boot. Enjoy!

I just saw your post on the northwest passage thread. Something I dream of too...with a bigger , sturdier ship that can handle some ice....
We'll be doing some sailing over that way this summer. If we dummy catch you before Newfoundland then have a great trip!

Hi Dave,

I'm at the end of your dock in the Alberg 22 "Tern" - can't miss it as I'm surrounded by 5 fishing boats :-)

Have been meaning to stop and say hi but our paths have not crossed yet.
