Oh boy, I feel for your wait (we waited from July when we signed a purchase contract to March when we finally completed the purchase). Regardless, congratulations and welcome to the world of sailing your own, very special, boat. Nothing wrong with fall and winter sailing in the PNW - you just need heating, good gloves and good boots, and patience to enjoy the perfect blue sky sailing days between weeks of calms or gales.
