Man overboard recovery

Hello everyone! Im very interested in MOB Recovery and in particular, the available "AIDS & Devices"

It strikes me that TIME is the crucial factor recovering the MOB alive.

So I'd like to know what VISIBLE AIDS other than a "Dan Bouy" or "Sea Flare" are available to quickly identify the MOB location.

I'm aware of the AIS devices and my interest is in NON RADIO TYPE RESCUE AIDS - so that's just visible AIDS.

So if you can let me know I'd be very grateful as this is something I'm greatly interested in - oh yes, I know there are some inflatable mast devices which can be incorporated into a life jacket. So over to you - lets discover together! Cheers

Re: Man overboard recovery

Hello. Welcome to CF.

This forum occasionally gets requests like yours, from New Members, that ask for everything known about a topic without divulging more about why.

Your user name is MOB and you want to know of all the devices for MOB location.

Are you a vendor selling the devices?
Are you trying to design or sell a device?
Trying to build a database?
Why do you exclude the AIS and other electronic devices from consideration?
Is this for your own boat?

What is your real purpose or goal?

A simple look into a marine chandlers catalog or google search should provide many answers. MOB recovery devices are often discussed on CF. you can find those previous discussions in the archives of CF. A good online retailer for marine safety gear in the USA is Landfallnavigation.com. Visit that site and you can see a broad selection of MOB devices.

Since this is a topic you have already studied to some degree, I suggest describing what you have already identified or know first. Then others may fill in gaps of your knowledge.

Good luck and I hope this helps.
