Bit of a rarity

Bula. Hoping there are a few Warwick Cardinal owners out there. Looks like we have just purchased an lovely old lady (46) and would love to have a bit of a network of owners to chat to, as we work our way through getting to know her.
So little about these yachts online.
Any leads appreciated.

I understand she has a balsa cored deck. We used to have a boat with a balsa cored deck. Make sure you check carefully at all the deck penetrations that there has been no water intrusion. We were fortunate, and never had any major problems, but did have to do two (one moderately extensive) repairs.

Good luck with her, she looks lovely.

Thanks for that. Yes there has been some damage (now fixed) around a chain plate. Something to keep an eye on for sure! So few of these boats around it is definitely going to be a 'learn as you go' kind of experience. Cheers.

More than keeping an eye on it, I would launch a program to take off all deck fittings and rebed. The manufacturers of the existing bedding compound did not think about its viability after 46 years. How do I know? My boat is 45 years old.

Welcome to CruisersForum!

I would suggest updating your profile with your general location and your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.
