Question What Kind of Boat is in the Film "Kill Cruise"?

Hi -

I'm not sure I'm asking this in the right place, but here goes - there's a 1990 movie called "Kill Cruise" starring a young Elizabeth Hurley. It features a beautiful sailboat. Does anyone know what kind of boat it is, make, length, etc.?

I'm a writer who would like to include this information in an article - I really don't know boats at all (sad to say).

There's a clip at YouTube that shows the boat - search "Kill Cruise (1990) Full Movie, Starring Elizabeth Hurley." The boat makes its first appearance at exactly 19:00 of the clip.

The film ain't so great, by the way, but the boat is gorgeous.

Regards,

Bob

Re: What Kind of Boat is in the Film "Kill Cruise"?

Do you really expect people here to hunt 19 minutes into a YouTube movie for a first glimpse and then go through the rest of the move looking for better views, just to see what boat you are asking about?

I suggest that you post a few relevant screen captures from the movie if you want anyone to help.

Wrong boat.....

The boat looks like a 1960's or late 50's Ketch, looks like a a Camper & Nicholson or maybe a Marconi, not sure at all............

Re: What Kind of Boat is in the Film "Kill Cruise"?

Boat is an Alfred Mylne II design 50’ ketch. Built in 1959 by The Bute Slip Dock Co, Ardmeleish, Bute. Interior shots most likely done on a set, not enough room for camera, lights, crew, and actors.

Boat is named Melora III and built of mahogany plank on oak, teak deck and superstructure. Was up for sale 120,000 GBP by Sandeman Yacht Brokerage.

No, I did not watch the movie, skipped to the end and pulled the boat name from the credits….

Rotten Tomatoes reckons only 10% of the audience liked it! A reviewer noted "partial nudity ... a bit of the old slap and tickle tease". See: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/kill_cruise

The IMDb reviews start with "two of the worst actresses ever to (dis)grace the screen". See: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100633...?ref_=tt_ov_rt

Your most welcome Jakester, and I am truly amazed at the gratitude from this community for a seemingly minor piece of trivia. Kinda get that warm and fuzzy family feeling….

Now I’m getting creepy.
