As a parent, I've considered running away from home a lot more than I ever did as a child.

Re: The 2021 & 2022 Joke Threads

Please folks, this is the joke thread, may I respectfully ask that those of you that seem determined to turn it into the political/gun control meme thread please either start a thread to your taste or simply refrain.
I for one regularly enjoy the selection of JOKES found here, and I know I am not alone.
I do not want the thread closed.

Thank you. I made a similar comment a few days back, but unfortunately it got deleted by the mods.

Re: The 2021 & 2022 Joke Threads

It is that the mods have decided to disallow comments on the jokes, which has the unfortunate side effect of reducing peer feedback. Soon, this one will also be deleted. I expect the dueling banjoes will get tired of it eventually. You should feel free to contact any of the moderators about the issue, because, although you may not see a change soon, it will help with the discussion to see how many people are unhappy with the way it was today, and in the recent past. Try not to feel discouraged about it, each faction believes s/he is right. Unfortunately this super saturation attempt is just turning us off their point of view.

I am with uncle Bob here as well. Please feel free to delete this as appropriate. I am here for the funny, which may be political, but not for the straight up political.

Further to Ann's astute post, it is disruptive or argumentative comments about other members' jokes that are being deleted. Nice comments are generally accepted. Quoting a previous joke and making a negative comment about the joke is enough to have the comment deleted.

Political satire is a sticking point and it is hard to determine was is satire and what is simply political comment. Recently the posts have go downhill from a witty political satire to outright political comment.

I believe we want humour here, not shouting slogans. Unfortunately I don't expect any change soon but I love it if I was proved wrong. Please do you best to prove me wrong and see if we can get back to humour sooner rather than later.
