LOL! You got me! I know better too! We saw a meteor put on quite a show. It travelled for many seconds horizontally before it disappeared. It stayed bright close to ground so it could have impacted (thus a meteorite) in fields nearby. Was quite a sight.

Just as well since this part of the general public wouldn't want to know! I saw the movie 'Deep Impact'. Although, the scientist in me thinks It would be interesting to become part of the superheated sand that would become rock (like Trinitite after the bomb). Would I even be a fossil or just elements added?

worse is better.
we spot asteroids and meteors and such in the form of falling stars frequently.
and satellites that watch as we place over our pates those aluminum funny looking hats...
if one is going to hit us, wtf--we gonna die some day anyway--when it is time, it is time..
