I believe that Soulmates don't exist, they are created through Love, Commitment, Compromise, and hard work. You can start out with a lot of similarities, but there is always something that is going to drive you nuts about that person. Thats where Love, Commitment, Compromise, comes in. If you are willing to do the work, you will have your Soulmate. I know this to be true, because before I became a Widower I had it. Which begs the question, Can it happen twice? I'm counting on it. And remember she may not be that raving beauty or really handsome guy to others, but thats what they will be in your eyes. Beauty is more than skin deep.

Happy Valentines Day to the group and thanks to Erika about your praise of the beauty I am getting. I think she is about the prettest boat I have seen in a long time but I am biased lol. By the way I just got the best Valentine from my oldest she had my 4th granddaughter yesterday morning and I cant thank God enough for both being safe and happy.

Ouch!

Doug,

That is one sad song. I guess we've all been hurt like that, it's true. But aren't we on this site because we're still hopeful, and ready to get out there and take our lumps again?
I hope that song doesn't represent a recent event for you. And that you find someone to trust again.

Welcome 3 new members

Mango Bob, welcome, your avatar is really cool, everytime I see it I think to myself.."gonna need a bigger boat".

Quebec 1, welcome, sorry can't find my squiggly line for the e, eh?

Cr8tivesailor, welcome, love your art.

Hope you all find what you are looking for. Doug I am not as savvy at posting youtube stuff but here is the link to one of my favorite songs relating to love. It is the Proclaimers
"Whole Wide World" the video is very boring/weird but the song is perfect for today. She is out there and looking for you too. Sorry for the mushy stuff guys, I am very sentimental and it is in full force on Valentine's day.
Hugs
Erika

Wow;
You guys are really philosphical (sp?). I tuned in here just for the hell of it and was bowed over. Insofar as I am, from all appearances, going to qualify for this group soon, thankfully not as a widower but as a divorcee. Qfter 38 years, (yeah, faithful even) I do not have a clue. I hope to be fit for mixed company within the next year or so. At least I am self sufficient, cook really good, can pay my bills and will not have a lawnmower, weed eater or tree saw anymore. She can have all that.

Gave up smoking, (35 yrs ago), drinking a year ago and though not my plan, sex about the same time as drinking. I have now resolved to give up giving up stuff, things, habits both good and bad. Not much left anyway. Come hell or high water coffee stays.

Oh well, I get the boat that will be pretty cherry when I finish, new: AC, electrical system, engine, drive train, plumbing, bottom job, fiberglass issues addressed. New remodeled stateroom with queen sized latex and remodeled galley with really good refigeration, (so I can practice fillet and release). The book says close to 5 mpg in calm seas or 2 gph @ 10 knots, I will believe it when I prove it. 1400 rpm = 10knots. ??? Real world km per gallon ???.

Anyway, I will continue to peep in here, because going to the Exumas alone would leave a big gapeing hole in the experience, but also with the wrong person could prove to be a miserable experience.

Thanks all for your viewpoints and the encouragment from your experience I gleened.

Another vote here for that as our theme song! Those guys (the Proclaimers) are cute too - I go for that pasty white geek look! Especially with the accent.

Mule - I'm with you on the coffee! And especially on the 'not a clue'; someone always seems to be left saying WTF?! just happened. It will take a while to sort out. No better therapy than the ocean - not cheaper than analysis, but better! LOL
