LEO and unwelcome sailors.

This officer is talking to a golfer. The golf range consists of, "Little Tybee Island, GA." and an unwelcome sailor anchored next to Little Tybee Island.

Attachment 128186

The officer is Pat Welsh.
PM me if it was your sailboat. Date was 18 June 2016

Still surrounded by anchors.

Re: LEO and unwelcome sailors.

Really not clear what you're trying to post. The attachment in the first post doesn't work for me and the photo in the second post I don't see a boat.

LEO and unwelcome sailors.

I'm sorry, for the confusion. The officer refused to allow me to go sailing with dogs as this golfer was littering Little Tybee Island, GA.
It was later, that I realized why. A less fortunate sailor, was anchored off Little Tybee Island.
Evidently the golfer was, "helping," the sailor at anchor, to decide to haul anchor and relocate. I was a witness, although I had no idea what I was witnessing, at the time.
The photo was taken on Tybee Island, GA. at the boat ramp on Alley 3. Again, that sailor has every right to be upset, and talking to another sailor somewhere.

Re: LEO and unwelcome sailors.

Sounds like my boat, but it only has one anchor.. And there is a guy who hits golf balls from shore, I know him but don't recall his name, but told him not to hit my boat.. He surprisingly said "that's your boat? The DNR boarded it and a few other boats a few days ago". Which I was completely unaware off.

I'm a little confused about what the gist of this thread is about?

Re: LEO and unwelcome sailors.

At first I didn't understand.. I thought it was some kind of problem with my boat being anchored there, but now I see it was a complaint expressed about the guy hitting golf balls.. I also thought the "still sorrounded by anchors" was talking about my boat!

Re: LEO and unwelcome sailors.

By the way... Why would an officer be telling you you can't sail with dogs??

Yes I don' understand that. There is no law in Georgia (I'm originally from GA) restricting dogs on boats. If it's my boat and my dog I could take my dog on my boat. No different than taking your dog in your car for a ride.

I think you need to reset and explain in simple terms what happened and what your concern is. You are all over the place and it's unclear what your point is.

A guy was driving golf balls from shore trying to hit a moored/anchored boat. He (appropriately, IMO) is looking for the boat's owners here to discuss what happened and perhaps follow up.
