In the snow...

I'm sitting here in my car, at the bottom of the slopes, just finished a 3 hour ski run.... Waiting for my toes to unfreeze..... Soooo painful! Passing the time by reading the recent posts on the forum... I sooooo envy all of you out there, enjoying the sun, this will be my last winter in Canada! Next year will be in the Carabians!!!!

Not all of us are in the sunny tropics.

Well as long as we're sharing our snow pain, here's the view from the aft deck in the boatyard. Waaahhh!

Re: In the snow...

When the temperature drops to 50 degrees F, that is too cold for me. I was born in Michigan with snow up to my eyeballs, and I never went back.

Re: In the snow...

Ugh. The snow collapsed my tarp, and piled up on the hatch cover... until I opened the hatch in the morning. COLD! cheaper than coffee but a lot less tasty.

Re: In the snow...

I drove down to the boat today to clear snow off the cover after our storm over the weekend. Cleared about a ton of snow, cleared a coating of ice in the bilge and pumped out a few gallons of antifreeze water mix. How long 'til warm weather?

Ha! Going down to +5F tonight but no more snow forecast for at least a week. Five feet at the house (7500 feet) and more at higher elevations. Wife sprained her wrist shoveling yesterday so a relaxing New Years Day. Days like this, I miss Mexico!! Phil

Re: In the snow...

We haven't had a whole lot of snow here, but lots of rain and weekly gales out in the straits. There is one blowing pretty good out there now in Hecate and waves of up to 6m are expected tonight.

65!? Heck, with that temp, I could at least go work on the boat. I've had 20's at night, 30s in day in mid TN. Can't wait for spring to show up. I need to get my boat in the water!

Cheaper than coffee for a quick wakeup when the snow collapses the tarp and collects on the hatch cover to lie in wait for you to open it in the morning. Not much fun though, I'm looking forward to spring.

Yeah! I hear there is some freshly cleared beach front with plumbing already installed.

Re: In the snow...

Pack your gear, start the boat and keep cruising south till the butter melts, it's what boats are for !
All that hassle is only mental masturbation.

Since I have to tuff it out, might as well make the best of it, that means going skiing again tonight but I won't put up with that pain again:

bobconnie, I love waterfront, but get tired of arguing with the gators over time slots to use it!
