Your right of course coyfish, a lot of people are changing. But everywhere I go its is the big autos that drive up and unload at the docks, that provision with everything double wrapped from the store. For those already buying from the local producers or like Seahag, making their own food, my message is not for you. I think alot of us (including me sometimes) have this double standard.

raising fish in ocean sea pens seems a good idea.
We need to make more food for ever more people.
I hate to see food being used for fuel like in ethanol.
Corn for fuel makes corn more expensive and starvation increases.

Some people really NEED big vehicles, because they have a trailer boat. But where I sell, there's a wide range of vehicles, most of them moderate or smaller in size. I just don't think sweeping generalizations help -- and it seems to me that sweeping generalizations are always negative.

Many people can't use solar or wind power. I couldn't have in my condo, but I applaud those who can. Likewise I wouldn't have been able to plant a garden, but I just don't LIKE gardening. I'm not good at it. There are lots of other things I can do, and I do them.

I bet just about everyone here does something. I bet just about everyone here would like to do more. Changes like this are often gradual. I don't think yelling that no one is doing enough is really helpful.

They raise fish in pens down in the Peruvian Fjords and are causing very bad things to happen ..most is Salmon production and the waste that these genetic fish produce is un-balancing the whole eco -system...if we are going to talk about the enviroment we had better...hell we are the enviroment..pass me the salt please..

I was thinking about Rockfish(strip bass)they have or had a two fish limit of 15lb min. and a friend of mine fished commercial with a pond net and it would be full with hundreds of pounds of these fish and he could not keep but two..lots would get half way through and die..he had to throw them back or risk running afoul with the law...sorry state of affairs..maybe it made a difference..

here they are raising fish on land in tanks, Cobia. Interesting that they can do this.

I think we should find a commercial market for sea lions - theyre easy to kill, there's too many of them. They used to follow my salmon troller and rob me blind! They would peel off the fish as fast as we could catch them. All you could do is pick up your gear and run to a new spot and hope they dont find you.
BTW, the reason there are so many of them is because we've killed off the white sharks and Orca whales - the balance of nature is not so well balanced anymore.
Boy, I could go on and on and on and.........
