Spoken like a true Texan... Thanks
I really like the US, Have spent a considerable amount of time there in my life, and money and have made many close friends and continue to do so...

Don't be offended when I tell you that you won't be on my Christmas card list.

It is a document that can be changed. And has been. Notice that you are quoting AMENDMENTS! There are procedures to do still. Your comment about using historic context is one of our biggest problems. Our courts have made many rulings that ignore historical context.

Our biggest problem now is that the politicians don't have the courage to do their jobs. We haven't had a budget in years because they don't have the guts to tell the people that hired them that it will be painful.

For the "America is a bad citizen of the world" folks. I will point out that private charities in the USA give more money to folks in other countries than our government spends on our military. We may not be perfect but it would be interesting to see how many other countries could say the same.

Please folks...this is not the opinion of 99% of the people in the U.S. I am a transplant here in the U.S. for 37 years from Canada. I can tell you Americans are very friendly and open minded. I find this post quite disgusting.
Any chance of anyone getting back on topic?

Yes and 84 percent of whiite murders are perpetrsted by other whites, another high number. Niethrr of these statistics have much to do with the gulf that has opened up between police and citizens especially when we see increased militrization of police and increased awareness of questionable, too often deadly encounters beteeen polive and black folks
Bahamian officials have taken approptiate action in warning their citizens.
I pray that we can find our way though a very difficult period for U.S. race relations

News to me:$600 Billion goes to the military, and more than that to foreign charities?
Got numbers?

I think he just got out of the military. He's still adjusting.

Most bases have Fox News on 24/7 it seems or at least that has been my experience.

Re: Bahamas Warns Citizens About USA

In the end for cruisers it matters little what the violence in a country is. All that matters is the violence against cruisers or in areas they hang out in.

There the thread is back to being about boating and there is now a 2 page allowance for crazy postings before the next reset is due.

Not bloody New York!
The clearing in locations have changed and are now in 2 far flung areas in New Jersey without access by public transport.

Both took half a day to get to! Each!

Even when i did find one i needed a US phone to call them to get a dude to come out and open the door.
That one was out of internet range and i couldnt call at taxi or Uber so i had to hitchhike back to civilisation. I kid you not.

The other, over the freeway from Newark airport i had to walk 2 or 3 miles without a sidewalk on an trucking road because Uber stuffed up only sending a car from the airport, so i had to walk till they were out of range.

The people in both offices were fine but taking two half days to clear in is a joke that even jaded moi.

Although Americans are very charitable, you're not even close.

In 2015, the largest source of American charitable giving* came from individuals at $268.28 billion, or 71% of total giving; followed by foundations ($57.19 billion/16%), bequests ($28.72 billion/9%), and corporations ($18.46 billion/5%).
Total = $373.25 billion

* Mostly domestic, and the majority of charitable dollars went to religion (32%)

https://www.nptrust.org/index.php?/p...ng-statistics/

In fiscal year 2015, military spending ($598.5 billion) is projected to account for 54 percent of all federal discretionary spending.
