Planing on cruising in mexico and go south

Hey mates,
Im planing on buying a sailboat in mexico , baja california to liveaboard and cruise central america, Is it safe to live in this areas?
Is the authorities are make trouble to move from one country to another?
Any petty thefts or pirates i need to worry about on the pacific side?

WRT Mexico, everything is very modern and officials go by the book, at least in my experience entering/exiting 5 or 6 times.

No pirates either, and I am pretty confident the same is true in Central American countries as well.

I was in Baja this year and everyone was very easy to deal with, but I did use an agent in Ensenada (free, provided by Cruiseport Village marina) and so very easy for me.

Going from Nantucket to Cuttyhunk via passage south of Martha's Island is certainly possible but there are issues you should consider. Perhaps most importantly is the extent of shoaling at the south end of Muskeget channel coupled with currents in the channel if you decided to not cut the corner coming from Nantucket. If you time the the currents the trip is faster staying in Vineyard Sound and transiting through Quicks or Robinson's hole. ll
