Looking for replacement shower faucet

Hi!

I seem to be striking out on finding a replacement shower faucet for my hylas 46 I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas where else I might look for this.

The inlets are 6 inches on center and it's a single outlet shower head. Please see the photo attached.

Thank you!

Peter

Re: Looking for replacement shower faucet

Does it have to be exact or would you be open to any 6" bridge mixer? I'm not having very much luck finding the exact one.

Have you contacted the manufacturer? That looks like Scandvick. They have replacement parts. http://www.scandvik.com/

Re: Looking for replacement shower faucet

It certainly does not have to be exact, but it does have to fit the 6-inch space. We thought it was American Standard

I had the same problem. I got a piece of plastic large enough to cover the holes then drilled holes for the new unit which was on 4" centers.

This one is 150mm (5.9") which might be close enough...

Edit- This one has adjustable connections with covers to go over the adapters.

I can definitely see AS in the design. I only suggested Scandvik because Hylas used Scandvik shower parts. The one I found is very similar to the 2nd one CaptNemo posted (not Scandvik).

Re: Looking for replacement shower faucet

The standard European connection appears to be 150mm across the centres (5.9"). I've fitted a couple in different houses over the past few years, and they have been supplied with 2 dog leg adaptors to allow for some adjustment with the pipework behind. Have a look at this web page and you will see there is also one with pipes that can be moved in and out between 130mm and 160mm...

Shower Valves - Thermostatic Mixing and Manual Shower

Possibly not ideal for you if you are in the U.S., but gives an idea of what is out there.

Re: Looking for replacement shower faucet

If there's a chance it's by Scandvik, even if it's an older model no longer offered... they were once able to help me identify the correct replacement cartridge for one of our faucets... by reviewing the pics and measurements I was able to send them.

Outstanding customer support from Kathy Beatty (kathy@scandvik.com).

Have you called Hylas to see if they have any information, or the part itself? You'd be amazed at what some builders/distributors have stuffed away in their parts department for older models.

Re: Looking for replacement shower faucet

I heard back from Hylas Taiwan they definitely are able to get the faucets for $95 bucks. I'm ordering two of them.

Thank you however for the excellent ideas and responses!

I have to say I actually think I might prefer the one with the separate valves just because of the tendency to knock the existing one into the on position by mistake

When I need a replacement part, I always buy two. That insures that the first replacement will never go bad... I figure by the time I slip into the sweet bye and bye, my beneficiaries will have acquired enough spare parts to totally refit another boat.

Also, have a look at RV stores & sites. I have often found the same stuff there at 40% less. Only for the cabin interior, though.

Be sure to figure out if they're NPT or British threads...
