Insuring a winter in the Caribbean

Looking for some advice. We are currently insured by Chubb. They cover us on the US Atlantic Coast. We are trying to plan a trip south this winter and I'm trying to get coverage in the Caribbean. My rep is telling me I have to submit an itinerary that included every place I stop on the trip. If I need to change that I have to ask for permission from the insurance company. Also, this itinerary can't be submitted more than 30 days from the trips start? Has anyone experienced this? I assumed I could get coverage for the Caribbean just like I have on the East Coast. That way I can travel wherever makes sense and I'm covered. I don't understand how someone could plan a trip and not know what the insurance would cost until 30 days before they leave?! This has been super frustrating and the people at Chubb have been less than helpful! Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated!

My underwriter is also Chubb. We negotiated a flexible policy to include areas throughout the annual policy period, not specific locations or times such that the intricacies of route planning and any last minute changes are irrelevant.

It sounds like the agent with whom you are dealing is trying to minimize your cost by narrowing the window within which you travel.
