Re: I'm serious - what do you do all day?

Wake up, interweb for awhile, go to a cafe and read and socialize, that takes until noon. Back to the boat, eat lunch, work for a couple hours, take a nap.
Wake up, make dinner, watch a little TV, interweb again, write, go to bed.
That's a normal day in a marina. At anchor, cut out the cafe and add getting something like food or water and doing some fishing or swimming.
At a great anchorage, cut out the cafe and the internet and add surfing.

I used to drink rum all day. That kept me busy.

What do I do all day? It is very easy for me. I never get bored!

I suffer from EIS (Expert Impersonation Syndrome). So I have joined 135 groups and forums. CF is one of my many groups. I impersonate an expert in what ever field that is needed to answer the question or to comment on the posting. It is simple. Because I have no real experience I use Google searches and various wiki sites to copy my answers...then just paste. Most of the time I am very credible in assuming the persona of someone else.

Holy crap, here I go again...must be an EIS attack.

You lot are funny and yes I can't wait to join, palm fringed beaches, crystal clear waters, cocktails at happy hours and a boat boy to bring the daily fresh provisions

I spend long days at the beach, go surfing, fishing, or diving.I nap in the hammock, chase wemon till they catch me, eat at fine restaurants (liked Taco Bill 's) . The rest of the time I just waste.

Re: I'm serious - what do you do all day?

We ask ourselves that all the time as the days fly by and we wonder what we did!

Been over 8 months in the Caribbean and just happy moving from island to island, swimming, the scenery, socialising, having friends to stay, cooking (for pleasure as we have time now), exploring, pottering about keeping the boat clean and provisioned. We just love the life, are never bored and wouldn't swop it for 'work' again :-)

Re: I'm serious - what do you do all day?

Watching the sunrise (if I wake early enough) with my coffee, blogging, some internet surfing, working on various boat projects and maintenance, lunch, swimming and staring, usually an afternoon nap, a drink with the sunset, make dinner, some more online stuff and finally climb into the bunk with a good book.

it took a while to convince the admiral that "nothing" becomes something. As in "what are you doing? Nothing!!!!!!!!!
To do nothing, is in deed doing something

Re: I'm serious - what do you do all day?

While we are underway one of us is attentive to the boat and at the helm while the other is usually reading. At anchor we are often both reading or together on a mission to shore. Just an outing for groceries can be time consuming,- lower the dinghy, pack folding bikes & bags, dinghy to town dock, bicycle to store and then return...bikes out...dinghy up...store supplies. These tasks take much more time than a typical drive to the grocery store. Maintenance takes some time, but no more than what is spent by those in houses. I also enjoy walking my dog ashore. My dog is a ticket for me to wander about and exploring the local flora. If not for the little dog people might be wondering why that man is lurking in the bushes. When we are at the dock we do spend more time with TV movies and the internet.

Us homo sapiens talk of rush hour ... and in some villages, rush minute ... my wife and I can't wait to join the sailing "rush" (no time added to the term "rush"). Sailors do it at their own pace and in time with the flow of the ocean and wind. We can't wait! I really hope we get to meet with all of the good folk on this site. Whatever happens, we will try! See you on the other side of the wave!

Once you get into a sailing groove, you (or at least, I) no longer seem to feel the need to fill every moment with 'activity'.
That is well put ... only us landlubbers worry about how we are going to spend the next hour. Bring on the ocean and what she has laid forth before us, I desperately need my return to the ocean!
